Very Testing Back 9 at Wentworth for Michael Watson
An excellent round and a half by Mike in the PGA Championship at Wentworth saw him then come up against the revised new course with the wind getting stronger. The back 9 on the West Course at Wentworth is now causing all sorts of problems. Of course this makes spectacular TV golf, but for professionals like Mike hoping to make the cut, it can be cruel. Up until the final stretch Mike was just one over par, and it was thought two over would be enough to play on Saturday and Sunday. However that wasn't too be, a very harsh back nine just got the better of his valiant effort. Coincidently, the final hole now one of the most controversial in golf right now, saw one poor fellow scored a 10 ! Well done Mike a good effort not much consolation I know but Weymouth were right behind you.

November's Tip of the Month
Taking into account current windy weather conditions, keeping the ball lower on all shots could be beneficial.
* When putting widen your stance for stability.
* Try chipping with a less lofted club- 5/6 iron (subject to nothing being in the way)
* Play fairway shots with ball more central in stance, and restrict follow through but not back swing (A punch type effect).
*From the tee grip down the club by an inch, gripping a little firmer to reduce wrist hinge which can eliminate loft.
Good luck. Let the magic happen!!!!!
